La Fougue is an anti-oppressions organisation that is located in ardèche (a rural and montainous area of south-eastern France).

La Fougue started their activities in 2019, founded by Max, Francesca and Jade. Since then it has been offering workshops, trainings, labs and events around collective organization, inclusion and systemic dominations (sexism, validism lgbtqia+phobia…).

Since 2022, La fougue also has among their activities a queer and feminist mobile librairie: les l’un.es. Twice a month a self managed team of volunteers offers the books to borrow. Les l’un.es also organized some events: a discussion with Myriam Bahaffou author of Des paillettes sur le compost, writing workshops, a pedagogical exhibition around gender…

Since 2023, Sarah joined la Fougue to offer 2days feminist self defense workshops. She has been trained by the Riposte methods and the workshops are accessible to women and non binary persons.

La Fougue also has a volunteer board of directors that participates on taking news orientations, and support the active members.

La Fougue has an intersectional* perspective on the social relationships and on the power dynamics.

We start with everybody’s personal resources (knowledges and experiences) to experiment together. The methods we use are based on non formal education: our workshops are interactive and we design activities that allows people to learn from eachother’s experiences. We start with everyone’s personal resources (knowledge and experiences) to experiment together through speech, body activities, reading, actions, game… To do that we used differents methods, from storytelling, to debate, discussion around some theorical resources, playing activities, roles playing, problem solving, brainstorming experiences…

La Fougue also offers support to groups, teams, self-managed groups, etc. who wish to work on their internal functioning, encountering at some point a blockage, a tension, an impasse or a need for renewal, or to take a step back.

*The concept of intersectionality refers to the meeting and interaction of different social categories. According to an intersectionality perspective, inequities are never the result of single, distinct factors. Rather, they are the outcome of intersections of different social locations, power relations and experiences.
